Hi, I'm Daniel.

Computer Science student at BFH Biel with a specialization in CPVR (Computer Perception & VR).

About me

My path into computer science actually started in my apprenticeship. During my four-year tenure as a polymechanic at Lonza AG, I discovered how much I enjoyed CNC programming with Alphacam. The combination of programming parts on the computer to produce physical parts was intriguing to me. That's when I decided I wanted to know more in depth how this type of software is made. Ever since I've been studying Computer Science at BFH with a specialization in CPVR (Computer Perception & Virtual Reality), currently in my sixth semester. My Bachelor thesis Saf3D explores exactly this link between hardware and software: a 3D reconstruction of a robot's environment as a digital twin, so that humans can work with robots more safely.

In my free time I play drums in the local Musikgesellschaft Saflisch and I like to tinker on PCs or my homelab. From doing new hardware builds and benchmarking my builds to programming small mods for the games I like to play or running docker containers on my homelab.
